Entrepreneur in Residence Program

Orange Grove is very excited to welcome Benno Groosman, the new Entrepreneur in Residence.

Benno is a serial entrepreneur, with a focus in health care technology, and holds a Master’s Degree in New Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship (Erasmus University Rotterdam).

He was the co-founder and CEO of a multi-awarded healthcare technology startup that created and sold three internationally patented products. Benno has learned what works and what doesn’t work in the field of funding, organizational structure and customer development. Since the liquidation of this company he supported startup ecosystems in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, the Netherlands and now Greece. For his clients he provides incubation and acceleration services (strategic planning and execution), he helps startups in acquiring strategic funding and provides startup coaching and business plan support.

By sharing his experience and looking in “the kitchens” of many startups, he has broadened his skillset even more. Benno works goal-oriented, he is opportunity-driven and has a big relevant network for startups. As a co-founder in his newest venture, Surge-on Medical, he recently raised significant seed funding. He will share all his hands-on experience with the startups in Orange Grove. A startup is by definition “a human institution designed to create a new product or service under conditions of extreme uncertainty” and Benno strongly believes that “together with the Orange Grove and its startups, we can deal with many of these uncertainties!”

The Entrepreneur in Residence program is made possible with the generous support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation as part of their Recharging the Youth Initiative.
