Currently the costs of late diagnosis for any disease outweigh the costs of screening tests on a healthy population. Most of the time healthy people either ignore their doctor’s appointment or are genuinely unaware that they should be screened for markers of ill health (such as high cholesterol levels and high blood pressure), leading to delayed diagnosis and as a result to poorer disease prediction or increased severity. We provide a means of engaging and empowering smart phone users in preventive health behaviors by utilizing commonly used and readily available resources. Our key approach is focused on the power of simplicity and widespread adoption. As a result we came up with a smart phone application that we named CheckApp. CheckApp is a mobile application that provides a starting point in engaging users in health preventive behaviors by providing a proposed list of generic standardized medical tests based on age and sex. The user can modify the list with their doctor, update according to previous screenings and finally export the pending appointment to their calendar enabling reminder functionalities. Our proposal encourages and leverages the discussion between the patient and doctor in a manner that serves individual needs. Medical tests are fully customizable, easy to follow up and organized to reference a basic medical history profile.
